Trinity College of Music runs two undergraduate musical theatre training programmes, both designed to prepare young performers for careers in the musical theatre industry. Both courses are taught by highly experienced musical theatre professionals (see below for more detail).

The Foundation Degree in Musical Theatre: Performance is a two-year performance-based vocational degree designed to enable committed students with appropriate singing, acting and dance skills to prepare themselves for entry into the musical theatre industry. The programme is delivered in partnership with Reynolds Performing Arts, based in Bexley. Students have individual singing lessons and group skills classes in singing, acting and dance (including ballet, jazz and tap), all led by highly experienced teacher-practitioners. In addition, the programme includes classes in music theory, musical theatre history, study-skills and professional development. Students rehearse and perform in a number of public productions each year, working with Directors, Musical Directors and Choreographers from the musical theatre industry.

The BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre: Performance is new a one-year top-up course, due to start in September 2009 (subject to validation). The programme is designed to enable committed musical theatre students with an FDA musical theatre qualification or equivalent to continue their training in musical theatre whilst also gaining a BA (Hons) qualification. This innovative project-based course encourages students to raise their existing skills further and has a strong focus on maximising their potential employability in musical theatre.
